In a bizarre crossover event that defies usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Revealed

According to the official announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of forbidden rituals and fearsome transformations resonate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret sect.

The mission centers on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Changes

The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an unique katana alongside numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
