British Airways to provide free quick onboard connectivity via satellite deal
Passengers on this carrier can soon access fast connectivity in the air at no cost due to a major deal from Elon Musk's satellite provider.
Complimentary plus High-speed Internet Available to Everyone
British Airways announced that the no-cost, “quick and reliable” connectivity offering via Starlink becomes available for customers flying economy, business, and first class starting soon.
Broad Rollout Over Various Flight Operators
The parent firm of the airline, International Airlines Group, stated it had finalized an deal with SpaceX to provide internet services on 500-plus aircraft operated by its operators, such as the Irish airline, Iberia, and the low-cost airline.
Smooth Internet from Boarding through Landing
BA explained that this rollout of this service was part of a £7bn “transformation” program and would provide uninterrupted wifi service for flyers from the gate to landing, even when in flight across oceans and far-off locations.
Travelers will be able to hook up several electronics and do not require a unique login.
“Gamechanging for the airline and travelers, elevating their experience during flights our flights through providing them continuous wifi from gate to gate.”
Existing Wifi Offerings
Restricted connectivity access is presently provided for BA travelers through the majority of the airline's planes using their .air system.
Participants of BA’s loyalty club can send communications and text-based correspondence in the air without paying, while passengers who want to stream audio, video, and movies during their travel who are not travelling in premium cabins can expect to pay from four pounds ninety-nine and twenty-one pounds ninety-nine per connectivity package.

The provider maintains a system comprising thousands of satellites which is run by Elon Musk’s aerospace firm.
Ongoing Improvements at the Airline
The airline's leadership have been working to revitalize British Airways around following a period of financial constraints, IT problems, strikes, plus staff cuts.
The airline explained that application of artificial intelligence has assisted them to reach its timeliness at the best levels from over a decade ago.
Profit Performance
In August, BA reported a jump for earnings during the first half of the year, helping to push the parent company earnings higher.
IAG is due to release the financial performance covering Q3 recently shortly.
Other Starlink Deals
This announcement follows days after wireless carrier the telecom firm revealed it was working with the satellite provider to improve mobile network coverage across remote areas across the United Kingdom, by allowing customers to easily hook up phones via orbiting devices if there is no standard cellular service can be found.
