Keely Hodgkinson concluded her two-lap season with a triumph at the all-female Athlos meet in New York on Friday night.
{The reigning Olympic gold medallist, who earned third place at the global championships last month, dominated an impressive win in one minute 56.53 seconds in what was just her sixth appearance in a year impacted by a muscle issue.
Fellow Briton and global silver winner Georgia Bell took the runner-up spot again in 1:58.33, while St Vincent's Shafiqua M. (1:58.57) claimed third.
"I haven't competed much this year so it was likely less of a struggle for me to go out there and want to give it something," said Hodgkinson.
"The atmosphere at the event is crazy so it was extremely enjoyable."
The women-only meet packed the stadium in its second year, bringing a festive vibe to traditional track, with live music and Tiffany & Co. crowns replacing traditional winners' medals.
