The past two days have been incredibly eventful. This past Monday, we marked the half-decade milestone of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X with a competition to decide the top exclusive title of this console generation. You were given eight PS5 games and eight Xbox Series X exclusives to compete against each other, all heading towards a final showdown where the leading contender from each platform would go head-to-head. We've witnessed some nail-biting finishes in the first two rounds, particularly the extremely tight polls from the previous day. At this point, it's time to crown the leading PlayStation and Xbox titles ahead of Thursday’s final battle.

PlayStation 5 Contenders

For PlayStation 5, we have the Kratos-killer, Astro Bot. Maybe it should be no surprise given that it won top honors at the previous year's gaming accolades, but its win against God of War Ragnarök seems like a major shock. However, to reach the championship, it'll need to defeat the most valuable player of the PS5 generation: the acclaimed developer. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 enjoyed an easy journey to the final four, leaping past Ghost of Yōtei and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (another Insomniac game!) to secure a spot in the final four. Can Spidey topple a beloved PlayStation icon, or is he destined to become a chibi cameo in the next Astro Bot game?

Xbox Series X Contenders

For Xbox Series X has been more exciting. Coming out on top from a more eclectic field of competitors is Forza Horizon 5. It's a big victory for the open-world driving game already, proving that a niche category title deserves to be on the equal footing as classic platformers and story-driven epics. Its last roadblock en route to the championship is a big one, though. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has proven to be a crowd favorite, defeating critical darlings like Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush. Can it beat a much bigger game from an well-known franchise that's closely tied to Xbox itself? Should anyone manage this feat, it's probably Indy.
